I have not achieved my second degree that i am hoping for, which is the degree in "Art "Therapy" from my alma mattar Wayne State University in Detroit, but I am working on it. SO far I have taking three classes of Art therapy.
check it out:
http://ted.coe.wayne.edu/ted/AED/programs.htm
(I am taking the egree #5, the one with a blue square inside a blue square.)
I am using this as a nwe technique to help patients in working through problems to a better state, if we cant find an ultimate solution that solves all the patients problems, which is almost impossible.

what is the meaning of the five figures? yes they are the five people you want to draw: (oh there's six.) okay the six people you wnat to draw: mother, fahter, brohter, sister, sister, baby of vague gender identity.

but it mean more than that: it mean some meanings of what is inside you depend on how you draw them. depending on the thing you draw, the psychiatrist or therapist who is trained in art therapy can help a lot to help the patient find these things, in order to achieve the next step: find out why he is thinking like that. for example, in my training, we learned to look for shapes: size, colors, lines. the six bodies are realllllly long. long up too tall, almost not real in a way. the torsos are stretch out to make the viewer emphasize to look at them. yes the smily faces are present to look at them, and they are emphasis as well, but what is not emphasis is the lower portion of the physiology of the six. the mother is colored. bright green skirt, a little emphasis. red lips. alota emphasis. the brother has yellow shorts, subtle emphasis. so then we would talk about what that means in color theory, and why those areas are emphasized, and why the stretched torsos, and other things. this is just an example. but really, the best therapy is kind that is words and pictures so that the patient has fun. in english phrases are fun like the type of phrase-prompt techniques that are on our therapy blog.
